Jay Bednar

B.A. Psychology, ISSA Elite Trainer and Nutritionist

2023 Mr. California

Hey there! I'm Coach Jay, owner of Apex Personal Training. I've spent 19 years as a personal trainer, earned a bachelors in Psychology, logged over 100 graduate credit hours in anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry, and have competed as a bodybuilder long enough to win 4 NPC Overall Championships Most notably, the NPC Collegiate National Championships and Mr. California. I don't just study this stuff. I live it, and I Love it.

My philosophy is straightforward: most people don't struggle because they're lazy - they struggle because nobody has ever built them a real system and held them accountable to it. At Apex, that's exactly what we do. Training, nutrition, and medical wellness all under one roof, designed specifically around your individual goals.

Those goals look different for everyone. The vast majority of my clients are not trying to compete in bodybuilding. They want to lose fat, build strength, move better, feel better, and actually sustain it long term. That's what we're built for. Whatever your version of the best shape of your life looks like, we build the system to get you there, prioritizing health the entire way.

David Rosenberg

I'm David, ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and currently earning my Bachelors degree in Exercise Science. My background is equal parts classroom and lived experience.

My passion for fitness started with my own transformation, but it deepened after going through a serious injury. That experience shifted my entire focus toward the science of how the body actually works — training mechanics, recovery, and long-term injury prevention. Now I use that knowledge to help clients not just get results, but build a body that holds up.

Outside the gym, I compete in Muay Thai — which means I understand firsthand what it takes to train with real intensity while keeping your body healthy enough to keep going.

My coaching style is challenging, intentional, and built around you. Every session has a purpose. You'll work hard — always within your current capabilities, and always with your safety as the baseline. But we will push those limits. That's how you progress and grow as a person.
